O DEAPS sustenta que a mudança de um modo de avaliação centralizado para um participado é central para a inclusão de vozes marginalizadas e sub-representadas no debate sobre a garantia de qualidade.
Argumentando que uma maior inclusão facilitará melhores resultados, o DEAPS identifica a falta de capacidade nas escolas para envolver outras vozes como sendo um aspeto crítico. Para contribuir para esta situação, o DEAPS procura:
The main activities to be carried out include:
→ Provide a conceptual framework for participatory assessment systems.
→ Develop a toolkit for schools to build capacities for including marginalized voices
→ Develop a MOOC to facilitate the distribution of information about DEAPS
→ Develop an initial module for teacher training
→ Develop a project website in multiple languages
It is anticipated that the development of DEAPS will enhance schools' capacity to engage in inclusive quality assurance processes and provide mechanisms that will enable groups at risk of exclusion to have a meaningful voice in how schools self-assess, leading to increased involvement and ownership of the processes.
