1st WORKSHOP:
TOWARDS ZERO POLLUTION
Scientifically proven systemic threats and risks associated with climate change, biodiversity loss and increased pollution have led the European Commission to propose a European Ecological Pact. This Pact sets out the framework for the European Union’s growth policy to be adopted, with the aim of building a carbon-neutral economy by 2050, more effective in the use of materials, with less pollution and regenerating biodiversity and the environment. European policies are based on a few legal documents reflecting the objectives of waste generation prevention, material recovery and final treatment of non-valuable waste from a Circular Economy perspective. The theme “Zero Pollution” is of great importance for soil, air and water and is directly linked to all productive sectors. This workshop aims to contribute to this theme. The development of existing technologies, as well as the creation of new technologies to value under-utilized resources or the optimization of procedures, represent an added value for businesses, both economically and environmentally.
The 1st Workshop – Towards the Objective of Zero Pollution, in PV, is part of the activities of Green Week PV 2021, which will take place on June 4, 2021 in the auditorium of ESTGV (School of Technology and Management of the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu). Zero Pollution is a cross-cutting theme for various industrial sectors. This transversality will be manifested in this workshop through the communications presented.
Registration is open for oral presentation until May 22.
To do so, you must send a summary to the amb@estgv.ipv.pt, address according to the template.
This workshop aims to participate in all organic units of PV, universities, and other polytechnics, as well as secondary schools. The selected works have 5 minutes for their presentation.
All accepted abstracts will be published in the abstract book that will be available on the event’s website for free download.
