CI&DEI

The Center for Studies in Education and Innovation (CI&DEI), evaluated with the rating of 'Good' in the current evaluation cycle by the Foundation for Science and Technology, was established in 2017 with the aim of fostering quality research in the field of education.

The CI&DEI is a Research and Development Unit (R&D Unit) that integrates the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu (IPV) (main managing institution), the Polytechnic Institute of Guarda (IPG), and the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria (IPL) (managing institutions).

Currently, it has over a hundred integrated researchers, divided into multidisciplinary teams organized into 5 research lines.

MISSION

Develop research in education, assuming itself as an organizational structure of coordination and support to research and socio-educational intervention projects.

Intends to encourage interdisciplinary network research activities through the use of various information and communication technologies in order to develop the integrated cooperation of its researchers, establish an interface of knowledge and technology transference, promote science and culture, as well as the provision of services to the community.

The scientific activity developed tends to assume an applied research perspective, in line with the mission of polytechnic higher education, contributing to the strengthening of networks and partnerships, both with the region and at the international level.

It is the strategic objective of the Center to reinforce the proposed research lines with a comprehensive focus on the great contemporary debates of education in terms of pedagogical innovation, education for equity and inclusion, academic success and promotion of citizenship in a lifelong learning context. lifelong learning.

Foster pedagogical innovation and quality in education

Promote the knowledge and the integration of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in several teaching-learning contexts
Produce knowledge that can generate educational and social changes towards the promotion of equity and inclusion
Allow students from the polytechnics to participate in R&D projects in their academic experiences, leading to an increase in the scientific production
Increase the scientific production of CI&DEI researchers and enable their constant updating
Promote scientific employment
