The CI&DEI Board is made up of the Scientific Coordinator, a member of the Main Management Institution (Polytechnic Institute of Viseu), and the Researchers in Charge of each of the Management Institutions (Polytechnic Institute of Guarda, Polytechnic Institute of Leiria and Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon).

SCIENTIFIC COORDINATOR
The Scientific Coordinator is responsible for coordinating activities, managing current affairs and representing the unit externally.
The Researchers responsible for each of the Management Institutions interact directly with the Scientific Coordinator in order to coordinate scientific activity in line with the established lines of research, define the Centre's strategies and options, as well as the methods and criteria for using and distributing support and verifying compliance with the activity plan and budget.
SCIENTIFIC COORDINATION COMMITTEE
The Scientific Coordinating Committee is made up of the members of the Board of Directors and the coordinators of the research lines.
The research lines include integrated members and collaborators who join them.
SCIENTIFIC COUNCIL
The Scientific Council is made up of all the integrated members of the Centre and is chaired by the Scientific Coordinator and governed by its own regulations.
It meets ordinarily and biannually, by decision of the Scientific Coordinator, or at the proposal of one third of the members of the Council, whenever a matter requires an extraordinary meeting.
