TRAINING.1

Implementation of training activities for project participants on the following themes:
Standards and guidelines for quality assurance in the European higher education area (ESG);
Adaption of the European standards and guidelines at National level;
Development of internal quality assurance systems;
Audits to internal quality assurance systems;
Standards and behaviors to be adopted by auditors.

TRAINING.2

Organization of a meeting between higher education institutions with systems certified, by the Portuguese Agency for Assessment and Accreditation of Higher Education (A3ES). The event aims giving emphasis on how these institutions have identified mechanisms to ensure the involvement of all stakeholders.

INTERNAL AUDIT

Carry out an experimental internal audit, with the participation of internal and external students, awarding them with participatory scholarships.
The process aims to promote and award good practices, developed by the internal staff. The process aims to improve, as well, the sense of ownership of the system by students, and thus to build their trust in the system.

COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS

Drawing up a comparative analysis between one national and one international higher education institution, with the purpose of identifying and adopting best practices of quality assurance and committed, as well, to the continuous improvement of the system.
The study intends to address the interpretation of European standards and guidelines at the national level and how this interpretation has influenced the development of internal mechanisms that ensure the active involvement of all stakeholders in the implementation of their internal quality assurance systems.
Through the analysis of results and the strengths and weaknesses identified in both institutions, the team will verify how the involvement of the parties can contribute to the enhancement of the quality assurance and how this involvement results into an effective improvement of quality.
