ABLEFIT: Development of an Advanced System for Rehabilitation

The Ablefit project, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, through the POCI, proposes carrying out research and development (R&D) activities, with a view to creating an advanced physical rehabilitation system aimed at bedridden patients with prolonged immobility and capable of to prevent complications associated with immobility in bed. Increasing the functional capacity of the musculoskeletal, cardiac and respiratory systems, as well as promoting the integration of physical exercise programs suited to the clinical condition of each patient, and also improving the patient's quality of life, are other objectives of this project under development. at the Health Sciences Research Unit: Nursing (UICISA: E).
Para o sucesso do Ablefit foi constituído um consórcio multidisciplinar, composto pela empresa ORTHOS XXI (promotor líder), com know-how e experiência no desenvolvimento de dispositivos médicos e de reabilitação, e pelas entidades WISEWARE, IPC-ISEC e ESEnfC/UICISA: E (com forte foco no sector healthcare).
